Ambassadors of Love Campaign
Organized by: Art Lab Sudan | Launched on: November 7, 2024
In response to the alarming rise in hate speech across Sudanese social media—especially after the outbreak of war on April 15—Art Lab Sudan launched the Ambassadors of Love campaign as an artistic and humanitarian initiative to counter hate speech and promote values of peace, coexistence, and love among Sudanese communities.
The campaign specifically targets activists, journalists, and influencers who may, knowingly or unknowingly, contribute to the spread of hateful narratives through their platforms and content.
The Concept
The campaign leverages Sudanese art as a tool for positive change, by highlighting artists whose work carries powerful messages of peace and coexistence. Through personal interviews, these artists expressed their visions of love and peace, and were officially appointed by Art Lab Sudan as Ambassadors of Love.
These artists represent a new model of cultural ambassadorship, using their voices and creative platforms to stand against hate speech and help reshape the role of art in society—from a medium of division to a message of unity.
Campaign Objectives
Raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of hate speech on Sudanese social cohesion.
Promote art as a means for peacebuilding and positive coexistence.
Build a network of “Ambassadors of Love” among Sudanese artists committed to spreading messages of peace.
Influence digital content by offering alternative narratives rooted in empathy and love.
Redirect public discourse toward constructive dialogue rather than polarization and incitement.
Why Now?
At this critical juncture in Sudan’s history, marked by war and fragmentation, we believe that art carries an unyielding voice—a message that transcends borders and conflict. This campaign is part of a peaceful resistance through words, melodies, and images, aiming to revive the spirit of unity and shared humanity among Sudanese people.
